Lighter End introduces nine new End biomes. These biomes will generate whether using Lighter End alone (in which case vanilla terrain generation will be used) or with other End noise-providing mods / datapacks such as Nullscape and Stellarity.

You can also disable Lighter End biomes in the config, accessed either through ModMenu or by editing config/lighterend.yaml in your Minecraft folder and setting the line:

generate_biomes: false

Glowing Grassland

The Glowing Grasslands are the most common Lighter End biome and are composed of gentle plains with sparse vegegation. Glossy Mooshrooms and Dragonflies can be found here, and this biome is otherwise peaceful.

Blossoming Forest

The Blossoming Forests are dense woodlands crowded with Tenanea Trees. Silk Moth Nests can be found among the leaves, and Chorus Crabs are dense on the ground.

No hostile mobs spawn in this biome.

Umbrella Jungle

Umbrella Jungles are where the massive Umbrella Trees grow, under whose canopies spawn massive End Slimes and the occasional Dragonfly.

Shadow Forest

The darkest of the forests, Shadow Forests are home to dangerous flora and fauna. Beneath the black leaves of the Dragon Trees lurk Phantoms and Endermen, and watch your step, lest you get pricked by Needlegrass or blinded by Murkweed.

Foggy Mushroomland

The Foggy Mushroomlands are home to Lighter End’s most iconic feature, the Mossy Glowshrooms, which light up the skyline with their glowing Hymenophores. Less staggering—but no less luminous—are the Foggy Agave blooms.

End Slimes, Dragonflies and Glossy Mooshrooms can spawn here.

Umbra Valley

Umbra Valleys are perhaps the most hazardous biome in the mod, with nowhere to hide from the Phantoms, Endermen and occasional Endermites that spawn there. That said, this biome might be worth the trip to chip off bits of the massive Aurora Crystal formations that can be found there or to mine the Umbralith and Violecite underfoot.

Sulfur Springs

Sulfur Springs are geologically active formations where the sulfur-rich mixes with pools of water to form massive geysers and Hydrothermal Vents. Fly over one of these formations to experience the updraft from the plumes or farm the unique variants of End Fish and Cubozoas that have adapted to these conditions, but be on the lookout for groups of Endermen and the occasional Endermite.

Megalake

Perhaps the rarest biome in the game, Megalakes are the only place to find End Lotuses, alongside End Lilies and Charnia.

End Fish and Cubozoas can be found swimming in the water and Chorus Crabs by the shore.

Starfield

While the stone that comprises The End Islands is absent of useful metals, the void between them is rich with Ice Stars. Each star contains an outer layer of ice mixed with copper, gold or iron, and a core of pure ore. If you can reach one of the larger stars, you’ll have enough metal for life.
