Silk Elytra is a chest-equippable glide item that also provides armor protection.
Obtaining
To craft a Silk Elytra, combine six Silk Matrices with two Phantom Membranes.
Heavily damaged Silk Elytra can also be found extremely rarely through fishing in The End.
Usage
Silk Elytra can be dyed any color using any combination of Dyes. Using a dyed Silk Elytra with a full Cauldron will return it to its original color. Silk Elytras can also be trimmed.
Note
By default, trimmed silk elytras will show the trims on both the chest and the wing layer. However, the wing layer trims can be disabled by going into your Resource Pack settings and removing the “Wing Trims” pack.
Silk Elytra can be enchanted, either in an Enchantment Table or using an Anvil, and are compatible with all body enchantments.
Un-enchanted, Silk Elytra provide 8 points of armor (the same as Diamond and Netherite).
Silk Elytra have 100 points of durability, which can consumed either through taking damage or by flying.
Silk Elytra can be repaired in an anvil using Silk Fiber or by combining with another damaged Silk Elytra.
